As part of their Expanded Performance research MAYK have been thinking about isolation and specifically how we might be able to use technology to create a sense of togetherness for people who are watching live performance from a place of isolation.
Cleo Lake, Expanded Performance research fellow, uses their political knowledge and background in movement in an exploration of African diaspora heritage and identity through connecting to music, visual art and traditional Ghanaian dance in a way that may foster healing and empathy. She works with African Caribbean elders, and young African Heritage men who have had experience of or are in prison.
