Here + There Update

by Emma Boulton

Here + There is a one-year R+D programme that connects the creative clusters of Bristol and Bath to an international creative technology conversation through a programme of talent development, research exchange and business development. Through the programme we want to explore how being locally rooted can allow us to understand ourselves as part of an interconnected network.

The 5th and final pathfinder aims to create and enable international opportunities for Bristol and Bath. By setting the foundations for future international collaboration, inspiring new thinking and business growth, whilst amplifying the work produced within B+B to international audiences.

What has happened during Here + There to date?

Greenverse

We launched The Greenverse, a talent development residency connecting young artists in Bath and Seoul to create new works integrating art, science and digital technology to respond to climate change. Greenverse was created in partnership with Nabi Centre, British Council and Korea Foundation. (Greenverse)

Company and Product Development Grants

In November, we invited previously supported individuals and companies to apply for further funding to develop existing work internationally alongside an international collaborator.

Our ambition is that international prototypes will pioneer new frameworks for international business and collaborations. Leading to new works and products, enabling companies to position themselves for what might come next.

What is coming up?

Creative Knowledge Exchange

Watershed is partnering with long-time collaborators Made Culture (Lagos, Nigeria) to create collaborative knowledge exchanges between the cluster and Lagos. We are co-designing knowledge labs for creative professionals from Bristol, Bath and Lagos to collaboratively explore and develop new thinking, tools, models and resources.
