Localising the Internet - 3 perspectives on Digital Placemaking

This Lunchtime Talk will be broadcast live on Watershed's YouTube channel

Watershed’s Research team are taking over the Lunchtime Talks in September to share some of the work coming out of two of our current programmes, Bristol+Bath Creative R+D and the South West Creative Technology Network (SWCTN). Come and join us to find out more about data, responsibility and digital placemaking.

As we come to the end of the first Bristol and Bath Creative R+D pathfinder in Digital Placemaking, we invite Roseanna Dias, Stephen Hilton & Mike Rawlinson, three members of the research cohort, to share their thinking.

Around the world, corporate giants are aligning with governments and Local Authorities to create new “smart” digitally enabled streets, waterfronts and even new build cities. But where does the local community fit in, if at all? This talk will consider three perspectives on localising the Internet, exploring what a local digital city might mean to Bristol, Bath and beyond.

Join us on Fri 25th September, 13:00-14:00 for the talk and to take part in the discussion afterwards.
