Adam PowellBusiness Development Manager
Adam is the Business Development Manager for Bristol+Bath Creative R+D. He supports the work of the Fellows and Prototype teams across the project, with a particular focus on future investment and inclusive growth, and is the programme's main point of contact for industry.
Adam has worked extensively with business, education, local government and third sector leaders across the Bristol and Bath city region. As Director of Skills for the West of England Combined Authority (WECA) and Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), he led several local policy interventions tackling skills shortages, improving labour market intelligence and promoting inclusive economic growth. As Head of Employability and latterly Head of Enterprise and Local Partnerships at Bath Spa University, he managed a £5m creative industries-informed learning and teaching programme and was responsible for enterprise, employer engagement and improving graduate employability across the University.
Adam continues as a future skills, labour market and local growth consultant, supporting EdTech and education clients across the South West and those delivering National Careers Service and National Apprenticeship Service contracts across the region.
Adam’s background in the creative industries includes arts management roles at the Royal Opera House and Association of British Orchestras and, having toured globally as a percussionist, can still occasionally be spotted in brass bands and orchestras in Bath, Bristol and Wiltshire.
